Chris Houston is the Managing Director of Tax Strategy and a member of the Private Client Practice at Cambridge Associates. Based out of the Boston office, Chris serves as an internal and external resource for investment teams and our clients and their advisors in the US, Canada, and other countries, helping them understand various tax and other considerations relevant to their portfolios and the underlying asset classes, investments, and vehicles. Chris also works with clients and their advisors on investment pooling structures, portfolio implementation matters, and tax, trust, and estate planning opportunities, sharing knowledge and best practices and being a useful sounding board and discussion partner.
Prior to joining Cambridge Associates in 2013, Chris served as counsel in the Private Client Group of Ropes & Gray, a global law firm where Chris developed broad experience providing sophisticated tax, trust, estate, and financial planning advice to a range of individuals, families, and institutions in the US and abroad. In addition, Chris had a leading role in the investment management of more than $3 billion of fiduciary and private wealth assets at Ropes & Gray.
Chris is a CFA® charterholder. He received his JD from the University of Chicago, his PhD from the University of Virginia, and his AB from Princeton University.
