Chris Houston is a Managing Director of Tax Strategy for the Private Client Practice at Cambridge Associates.
Chris joined Cambridge Associates in 2013. He helps our global investment teams, clients, and their advisors understand various tax and other considerations relevant to their structures, portfolios, and underlying asset classes, investments, and vehicles. Chris also shares knowledge and best practices with clients and their advisors on investment pooling structures, portfolio implementation matters, and tax, trust, and estate planning opportunities.
As a thought leader throughout his career, Chris has spoken at leading industry conferences and authored various papers on tax, trust, and other matters.
Prior to joining Cambridge Associates, Chris served as counsel in the Private Client Group of Ropes & Gray, a global law firm. There, Chris provided sophisticated tax, trust, estate, and financial planning advice to a range of individuals, families, and institutions in the US and abroad, while also serving as a trustee and being actively involved in the investment management of substantial fiduciary assets.
In addition, Chris has served on various town boards and committees, including the Weston Select Board and Finance Committee.
He received his J.D. from the University of Chicago, his PhD in Psychology from the University of Virginia, and his A.B. from Princeton University. Chris is a CFA® charterholder.
