Alan McKenzie is a Partner for the Private Client Practice at Cambridge Associates.
He designs, implements, and manages customized multi-asset investment solutions for family offices, drawing on specialized expertise in whole portfolio construction and strategic asset allocation.
Prior to joining Cambridge Associates, Alan was a Managing Director at BlackRock, where he served as Chief Investment Officer for Family Offices. In this role, he established an investment platform to deliver highly customized whole portfolio investment solutions for family offices. Prior to joining BlackRock, Alan was Director of Global Investments at Barclays Capital. He also held senior positions at Guggenheim Partners as Managing Director and Head of Research for a $4 billion multi-strategy hedge fund, and at Deutsche Bank as Head of Investment Solutions, overseeing $55 billion in fully discretionary investment portfolios.
Alan began his career with SEI Investments as a Managing Director, advising institutional investors on all aspects of the asset management process including strategic and tactical asset allocation, portfolio structuring, and manager selection.
Alan received his BA in Economics and Psychology from the University of Virginia. He is a CFA® charterholder.
