Alex Shivananda

Head of Global Secondaries

Alex Shivananda is a Partner and Head of Global Secondaries at Cambridge Associates.

Alex joined Cambridge Associates in 2016 and has over 20 years of private equity and venture capital experience. In his role, he oversees and manages investment portfolios, leading an investment team with a focus on global secondary investments and co-investments. During his tenure, Alex founded the secondaries transaction group and developed and led the secondaries and co-investment groups.

Alex is a voting member on many of CA’s Investment Committees, including those for Secondaries, Co-Investment, and Discretionary Private Investments. He also frequently speaks at client and industry conferences.

Alex has held multiple leadership roles across the private equity spectrum. Prior to joining Cambridge Associates, he was Managing Director and Office Head at HgCapital, a middle-market private equity firm. He was also a Management Consultant at OC&C where he advised corporations and private equity firms.

Alex has a multinational background and has lived and worked in the United Kingdom, The Netherlands, and the United States

He received his MBA from Harvard Business School and his MSc in Engineering from the Delft University of Technology.
