Erin Schuhmacher is a Managing Director for the Private Client Practice at Cambridge Associates.
Erin oversees total portfolio investing and process for our team. She directs our research agenda, ensuring it aligns with both long-term client objectives and current market dynamics. In addition to her investment responsibilities, Erin leads and manages the investment team—cultivating talent, fostering collaboration, and ensuring strong communication. The team oversees >$17B in assets for 13 clients located in the US, Canada, Europe, Central and South America.
Previously, Erin worked with endowment and foundation clients in the US. She manages customized portfolios both as an outsourced chief investment officer (OCIO) and in a non-discretionary capacity designed to meet critical financial and client alignment objectives.
Prior to joining Cambridge Associates, Erin spent seven years as a Senior Vice President in Manager Research at Financial Risk Management in New York. During her time there, she conducted manager research and selection for multi-strategy, event-driven, and equity long/short hedge funds. She also assisted with asset allocation and portfolio construction across the firm’s fund of fund products. Prior to business school, Erin worked at Bank of America Securities and Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette, covering retail stocks. She began her career as an Investment Banking Analyst on the mergers and acquisitions team at Raymond James & Associates.
Erin received her MBA from Harvard Business School and her BA, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Vanderbilt University.
