Alex Koning, CFA
Managing Director, Endowment & Foundation Practice
Alex Koning is a Managing Director in the Endowment & Foundation Practice at Cambridge Associates.
He works with non-profit, pension, and private wealth clients in both a discretionary and non-discretionary capacity, with a particular focus on total portfolio structure and manager selection to align with client-specific financial and organizational needs. Alex began his investment career at Cambridge Associates in 2005. He held several positions, including Team Leader, before departing to attend business school.
Prior to his return to Cambridge Associates, he worked for the Smithsonian Institution and for Google, Inc. He previously interned with the Joint Economic Committee of the United States Congress.
Outside of Cambridge Associates, Alex is a Planning Committee member for the Fountain Cup, an annual fundraiser benefiting the Foundation Fighting Blindness.
Alex received his MBA from the University of Michigan and his BA from the University of Virginia. He is a CFA® charterholder.
