We established our West Coast presence in 1989 on Sand Hill Road in Menlo Park, California when the area was on the frontier of venture capital investing. Today, we have our San Francisco office, which opened in 2016 and continues to be a focal point for Cambridge Associates' private equity and venture capital research.

The office borders the Financial District and South of Market (SOMA) neighborhood. This area is home to a number of leading technology companies, start-ups, and investment firms. In addition to providing our clients access to cutting-edge venture capital firms and early adopters of alternative assets, the Bay Area office works with a wide range of philanthropies, endowments, foundations, pensions, and family clients throughout the western US and Asia.
