John Merrill

Co-Head of Americas Private Client Practice

John Merrill is the Co-Head of the Private Client Practice for the Americas. He helps oversee the firm’s work with our US, Canada and Latin America- based family offices and private clients.

John joined Cambridge Associates from Makena Capital Management, where he was a Managing Director leading client relationship management and business development on the East Coast. Previously, John spent 11 years at The Investment Fund for Foundations (TIFF) as a Managing Director where he oversaw the OCIO practice, was a member of the Investment Committee, and led the investor relations activities. Earlier John was a Vice President at Credit Suisse First Boston managing family and institutional portfolios for 5 years. Before attending business school, John was a Supervisor in the Capital Markets Division of PricewaterhouseCoopers after completing a 2-year commitment with Teach for America.

John earned a BA in History from Hamilton College, and an MBA from the Yale School of Management at Yale University.
