Michael Knecht

Investment Managing Director

Michael Knecht is an Investment Managing Director at Cambridge Associates AG.

Michael is a member of the Global Investment Solutions (GIS) team, where he focuses on Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS) solutions. He is also a member of the Executive Management of Cambridge Associates AG and serves on the EMEA Regional Operating Committee.

In 2010, Michael was a Founding Partner at SIGLO Capital Advisors AG (SIGLO), a Zurich-based investment advisor specialising in alternative investments such as ILS, private debt, drawdown management and impact investing where he laid the foundation for the current ILS business. In November 2024, SIGLO was acquired by Cambridge Associates.

His career began in 2001 at PPCmetrics AG, where as a consultant he supported institutional clients in asset manager selection and investment strategy implementation, while also heading the competence center for hedge funds and absolute return strategies. In 2010, he joined Harcourt Investment Consulting AG as a senior portfolio manager, managing segregated fund of hedge funds portfolios for institutional clients.

Michael studied economics at the University of Zurich with a focus on finance and capital market theory and has authored several articles on hedge funds in the portfolio context.

He is fluent in German and English.
