Wesley Swackhamer is a Managing Director for the Private Client Practice at Cambridge Associates.
Wes advises private clients, family offices, and family foundations across the US, specializing in private investment manager selection and custom portfolio construction. Since joining CA in 2008, he has helped build diversified global private investment portfolios and led due diligence across buyout, growth equity, venture capital, real estate, and credit strategies.
Wes has also managed numerous co-investment and secondaries transactions. As the leader of CA’s Alternative Asset team, he spearheaded the development of CA’s private equity exposure model to enhance portfolio transparency and allocation decisions. He serves as an observer on several Limited Partner Advisory Committees and co-authored a “Private Equity Emerging Manager Program Review” for a major US public pension.
Wes is also active in community and educational initiatives. He has mentored with Year Up in Boston, tutored students at a Boston charter school, and coached middle school baseball in New Orleans.
Prior to his career at CA, Wes was a professional baseball player with the St. Louis Cardinals, bringing discipline, teamwork, and a commitment to high performance to his leadership at the firm.
Wes holds an MBA from Boston University and a BS from Tulane University.
