Sean McLaughlin, CFA

Sean McLaughlin is the Head of the US Southeast & Mid-Atlantic Endowment & Foundation Practice at Cambridge Associates.

Sean oversees the firm’s work with foundations, colleges and universities, hospitals, and other non-profit institutions and guides the work of the firm’s six Virginia-based investment teams. He has 25 years of investment industry experience and joined Cambridge Associates in 2005.

Prior to joining the Endowment & Foundation Practice, Sean led a team of two dozen research professionals as Head of Capital Markets Research. Sean served for many years on the firm’s Private Growth Ratings Committee which governs the evaluation of individual buyout, growth equity, and venture capital funds; he also served on the Real Assets Ratings Committee.

Prior to joining Cambridge Associates, Sean was Global Director of Public and Media Relations at Lipper Inc., a Reuters Group subsidiary. Before joining Lipper, Sean oversaw the investor relations and communications functions for TheStreet.com, Inc., a financial news firm.

Sean received his BA from Colorado College. He is a CFA® charterholder.
