Mark Dalton

Partner, Private Client Practice

Mark Dalton is a Partner in the Private Client Practice at Cambridge Associates.

Mark joined the firm in 2007 and has over 25 years of investment experience. He leads an investment team that serves as an advisor and outsourced chief investment officer (OCIO) for families, family offices, university endowments, and foundations, managing portfolios ranging from $100 million to over $7 billion. Mark’s expertise also extends globally, having spent three years in Cambridge Associates’ Singapore office, where he played a pivotal role in developing the firm’s family and institutional client practice and enhancing its Asia manager research capabilities.

As a voting member of Cambridge Associates’ Public Investments Research Committee, Mark contributes to the oversight of the firm’s public manager due diligence and recommendations. He has also co-authored a paper titled, No Surprises: Managing Risk in Family Portfolios, in October 2023.

Outside of work, Mark is deeply committed to philanthropy and education, serving on the investment committees of The Brown Foundation, Chinquapin Endowment, and Gary L. Levering Endowment. He is also a trustee of the Chinquapin Preparatory School.

Prior to joining Cambridge Associates, Mark was a Senior Analyst at Crestline Investors, a hedge fund-of-funds and family office, where he specialized in sourcing and conducting due diligence on alternative investments. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Financial Analyst in the private wealth management division of Goldman Sachs & Company.

Mark received his MBA from UCLA and his BBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
