Liqian Ma is Head of Sustainable & Impact Investing Research and a Partner at Cambridge Associates.
Liqian joined Cambridge Associates in 2011 and has nearly 20 years of investment experience. In his role, Liqian leads the team in identifying and researching new sustainable and impact investment ideas. He also works with a variety of clients to build portfolios focused on impact and sustainability. He specializes in constructing custom private investment portfolios and serves as a member of the firm’s global private investment ratings committee. He is also a co-chair of Cambridge Associates’ Sustainable & Impact Investing Council and a member of the Sustainable & Impact Investing Leadership Team.
Liqian is a frequent speaker at client and industry conferences and regularly contributes to firm research on impact investing trends and strategies. He also oversees the Cambridge Associates Clean Tech Benchmark and is a member of CA Mosaic and CA Allies.
Outside of Cambridge Associates, Liqian serves on the Board of Directors and Fund Advisory Committee of Prime Coalition, a Massachusetts-based non-profit organization that empowers philanthropists to advance untapped climate solutions.
Prior to joining Cambridge Associates, Liqian was a finance associate at GreenerU where he worked on developing a private investment vehicle to finance energy efficiency projects on university campuses. Previously, he was a financial analyst in the Investment Management Division at Goldman Sachs.
Liqian received his MBA from Harvard Business School and his BA in Economics from Harvard College.
