Hamza El Gomati, CAIA, CIMA

Senior Investment Director, Middle East and Africa

Hamza El Gomati is a Senior Investment Director at Cambridge Associates.

Hamza joined the firm in 2015 and has close to 15 years of investment experience. He works with a variety of clients in the Middle East and Africa on investment issues such as policy setting, asset allocation strategy, and traditional and alternative manager selection.

Prior to joining Cambridge Associates, Hamza worked at the Libya Investment Authority, the Libyan Sovereign Wealth Fund, where he managed the multi-billion-dollar alternatives department and was involved in a number of steering committees focused on strategy and restructuring. Hamza was also a board member of a multi-billion-dollar sovereign wealth fund.

Hamza received his Masters in Finance from the University of Cambridge and earned a degree in Mathematics, Management, and Finance from Queen Mary University of London. He is a chartered CAIA holder and a holder of a CIMA certificate in Islamic Capital Markets and Instruments. He speaks fluent Arabic.
