Brian Chiappinelli

Brian Chiappinelli is a Managing Director for Discretionary Private Investments at Cambridge Associates.

Brian has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry and has been with Cambridge Associates since 2022. He leads the firm’s discretionary private investing development efforts, collaborating with colleagues and clients to create innovative and customized global strategies and vehicles.

Prior to joining Cambridge Associates, he started Impact Direct Advisors to help environmentally and socially impactful funds and early-stage companies secure funding. Before that, he was Principal and Head of Business Development at Boston Common Asset Management. He’s also held product and business development roles in private investments at Deutsche Bank and HarbourVest, as well as product specialist and business development roles at Batterymarch Financial Management and General Electric Asset Management.

Brian is also passionate about cultural exchange and is an alumnus of the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program. He has served on the Board of the Japan Society of Boston for over a decade, and recently created and serves on the board of the Peter Grilli Fund for Japanese Arts and Culture.

Brian received an MS in Investment Management from Boston University and a BA in Public Policy from Hamilton College.
