Dr. Nzinga Harrison is the Co-Founder & Chief Medical Officer at Eleanor Health and Vocal Advocate, Activist, and Author. Her new book, Un-Addiction: 6 Mind-Changing Conversations That Could Save a Life, is available for order now.
Dr. Nzinga Harrison earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Howard University, completed medical school at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and General Psychiatry Residency at Emory University.
Prior to co-founding Eleanor Health, Dr. Nzinga Harrison served as SVP of East Coast Operations and Chief Medical Officer for Anka Behavioral Health Inc.. Her activism is geared towards the healthcare system’s responsibility to incorporate trauma-informed interventions aimed at addressing the harms of racism and marginalization faced by many communities in this country.
In May 2023, Dr. Nzinga Harrison spoke at Quality Talks, an inspiring event with dynamic and thought-provoking speakers and inspiring dialogue on advancing the health care system and improving patient care.
Dr. Nzinga Harrison hosts the podcast, “Un-Addiction,” which shares empowering stories of recovery from substance use disorder and answers common questions surrounding addiction and mental health. She is also an Aspen Institute Fellow.
