For more than 40 years, our mission has been to make a positive impact on the world. Our investment results directly help our clients do good in the world, and we embrace the opportunity to contribute to their positive impact. We also espouse a corporate culture and business practices that support our communities and our environment.
In our communities
Our global service initiative provides dedicated time off for colleagues to participate in volunteer opportunities as a way to encourage positive social impact. Service Councils in each of our offices organize volunteer and fundraising activities to contribute to local philanthropic efforts. Our colleagues’ efforts have focused on causes such as homelessness, childhood education, disaster relief, and medical research, to name just a few.
Environment and sustainability
We take action across all of our offices to promote greater environmental responsibility, including:
- Using 100% recycled paper products throughout our offices
- Providing reusable coffee mugs and water bottles to colleagues
- Recycling mixed paper, cardboard, glass, plastic, metal, bulbs and ballasts, and batteries
- Setting all printers to default duplex printing to reduce paper usage
- Installing multi-function devices to encourage scanning and electronic filing
- Selecting sustainable materials and advanced efficiency lighting in office spaces
We have also purposefully selected spaces in office buildings that are committed to environmental efficiencies. Four locations are LEED certified, two are Energy Star certified, two have received the Building and Construction Authority Green Mark Awards (Pearl and Platinum), and one has received a 5 Star National Australian Built Environment Rating System rating as well as a 6 Star Green Star Rating. Our San Francisco office also recently received the HinesGO: Green Office designation, which measures and rewards sustainable practices.
Women and minority investors
With women representing more than 40% of colleagues at Cambridge Associates, we have created a unique atmosphere in the financial services industry for women investors to succeed and advance.
We are also committed to finding leading women- and minority-led managers to help our clients make specific commitments in these areas. Our investment team includes colleagues who are fully focused on sourcing and engaging with women and minority managers to increase the number of investment opportunities that we track and access on behalf of our clients.
As part of our ongoing efforts, we regularly engage with women- and minority-related affinity groups and networks, including:
- 100 Women in Finance
- High Water Women
Responsible investing practices
We became a UNPRI Signatory under the Professional Service Partners designation in 2012 and we have affiliations with Mission Investors Exchange, Confluence Philanthropy, the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN), and various other (MRI) investor groups and associations. Through these strategic partnerships, we are committed to advancing the dialogue on how investors can incorporate mission strategies into their overall investment portfolio and on the many opportunities that exist today to pursue mission goals.
