Sandra A. Urie
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Sandy Urie is Cambridge Associates’ Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and has been with the firm since 1985. Prior to assuming the CEO position, she was the Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for directing the firm’s global investment services.

Before Sandy joined Cambridge Associates, she worked as a member of the faculty at Phillips Academy (Andover) where she taught Russian language and served on the Admissions Office staff. She also served on the School’s development office staff where she had responsibilities for capital fund raising and eventually assumed the position of Associate Secretary of the Academy with responsibility for the School’s annual giving and alumni programs.

Sandy was a member and vice-chair of the Investors’ Committee of The US President's Working Group on Financial Markets (2007-2010) focusing on defining best practices in alternative assets, including due diligence and ongoing oversight. She currently serves on the Board of Overseers at Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Board of Overseers at Boston Lyric Opera, Board of Directors at Social Finance, Inc., Stanford Management Company Board of Directors, and the Global Board of 100 Women in Hedge Funds as Vice Chair. Sandy also currently serves on the Board of The Plymouth Rock Company. She formerly served on the Boards of the Yale School of Management, the Board of Visitors of the New England Baptist Hospital, Homesite Group Incorporated, Phillips Academy, Belmont Day School, Buckingham Browne & Nichols School, the Board of Overseers at the deCordova Museum, and the Board of Overseers of The Institute of Contemporary Art. Sandy was an honoree at the 2005 "Women Who Make a Difference" award ceremony, hosted annually by the National Council for Research on Women. Sandy graduated from Stanford University and received an MPPM degree from the Yale School of Organization and Management. She has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

David Druley, CFA
President and Head of Global Investments

David is President of Cambridge Associates and Head of Global Investments. He oversees the collective efforts of our dedicated practice areas and our research team. He and the more than 200 investment directors in his organization are accountable for delivering the highest level of service to clients in all practice areas to meet or exceed our clients’ investment objectives. Prior to David’s current role, he was the founding leader of our pension practice, creating and implementing innovative portfolio management frameworks that have transformed our pension clients’ approach to investing.

David has over 20 years of investment experience, including founding his own investment management firm. Prior to joining Cambridge Associates in 2003, he operated Druley Investment Management for nine years. While attending business school, David interned as an investment analyst at the Teacher Retirement System of Texas.

Noel D. O’Neill
Head of Global Investment Research

Noel is the Head of Global Investment Research and a Managing Director at Cambridge Associates. In his role, Noel oversees 150 professionals dedicated to evaluating institutional quality investment managers as well as researching and publishing a wide range of reports addressing capital markets themes and trends. As Head of Global Investment Research, Noel drives collaboration among the leaders of our public growth, private growth, hedge funds, real assets, investment grade bonds, and market research teams to set the strategic direction for all of the firm’s research efforts. Noel is also a member of the Private Client Practice at Cambridge Associates. He has worked with private clients, endowments, and pension funds based in the US, Europe, and the Middle East.  Noel’s perspective as an investor helps to ensure that the needs of our clients remain at the forefront of our research efforts.

 

Prior to joining Cambridge Associates in 1995, Noel was a Manager at Bain & Company, Inc. At Bain, Noel led strategy and operational change assignments for multinational corporations in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.  Prior to attending graduate school, Noel was a Mechanical Engineer with General Electric Power Systems division.  Noel managed gas turbine and combined cycle power plant construction and commissioning projects in the Middle East, North Africa, Venezuela, Indonesia, and Norway.

Steven W. Nelson
Chief Operating Officer

Steve is the Chief Operating Officer at Cambridge Associates. He manages the firm’s operational and administrative business functions, including Portfolio Services, Investment Operations, Human Resources and Administrative Services. He also oversees the firm’s digital platform of investment office solutions, collectively referred to as Optica, which aims to provide exceptional coverage of the global markets, contribute to more informed decision making, and drive superior investment performance. Prior to his current role, Steve was co-Director of our investment advisory practice and worked closely with the Arlington, Beijing, Singapore, and Sydney office leaders in areas such as strategic planning, business development, and staffing. He played a similar role with respect to the firm’s Mission-Related Investing group and served a variety of clients in Asia on general investment issues.

Steve joined CA in 1998. He relocated to Singapore in 2001 to establish the firm’s presence in the region and led the development of our Asia Pacific practice until June 2008. Steve has authored several research reports, including Japanese Distressed Investing, Chinese Venture Capital, and Investing in Listed Chinese Equities. He has been a regular presenter at industry events and client conferences. From 2002 to 2004, Steve was a member of the Financial Services Committee with the Singapore chapter of the American Chamber of Commerce and is currently a Trustee and member of the Finance Committee at the Loudoun Country Day School.

Deirdre D. Nectow
Head of Global Business Development

Deirdre is the Director of Global Business Development and a Managing Director of the firm. She is responsible for overseeing all of the firm’s global marketing, client relations, and public relations activities.

Before Deirdre joined Cambridge Associates in 2003, she spent seven years at Fidelity Investments where she held a variety of strategic marketing and consulting roles. Her most recent position was Senior Vice President of Marketing for the charitable services area, where she was responsible marketing The Fidelity® Charitable Gift Fund as well as launching a private foundation business. Prior to her Fidelity experience, she spent eight years as a strategy consultant at Price Waterhouse and CSC Index, where she was responsible for developing strategic plans, market entry strategies, and organizational efforts and strategies for financial services organizations. She also spent four years as a commercial lending officer at Bankers Trust Company.

Deirdre graduated cum laude from Mount Holyoke College with a BA in economics and received an MBA from the University of Chicago. She is an active fundraiser for several educational causes.

Steven Y. Quintero
General Counsel

Steve is the General Counsel and Managing Director at Cambridge Associates. He has been with the firm since 2007. In his role, Steve oversees our global compliance and legal functions.

Before joining Cambridge Associates, Steve worked for seven years in the Enforcement Division of the US Securities and Exchange Commission, most recently serving as an Assistant District Administrator in the SEC's Boston office. In that role, he managed two branches of supervisors, attorneys, and paraprofessionals with responsibility for enforcement of the federal securities laws in the New England region. Prior to that, he worked as a litigation associate in a Boston law firm and served a judicial clerkship with a federal district court judge. Steve graduated from Harvard University and received his JD from Stanford Law School

Sean Hanna
Chief Compliance Officer

Sean is the Chief Compliance Officer at Cambridge Associates and has been with the firm since 2009. As CCO, Sean is responsible for overseeing the firm’s compliance program.

Before joining Cambridge Associates, Sean served as in-house counsel at Liberty Square Asset Management where he was responsible for general legal and compliance matters. Sean began his compliance career as an analyst within the investment adviser compliance department of Fidelity Management and Research Company. Sean graduated from Trinity University with a BA in Economics, and holds a JD and MBA from Northeastern University.

Jason Roberts
Chief Technology Officer

Jason is the Chief Technology Officer at Cambridge Associates. In this role, he leads the information technology organization and functions.

Before Jason joined Cambridge Associates in 2014, he spent 15 years at Sapient Corporation. Most recently, he led Sapient’s Global Capital Markets practice where he was responsible for setting strategy and leading critical engagements with clients. Before taking on the practice leadership role, Jason was responsible for several key relationships with leading asset managers and hedge funds. His background includes leading IT and business consulting initiatives across multiple functions within the investment management process. Before joining Sapient, Jason worked for PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Accenture.

Jason graduated from University of Connecticut with a BS in Finance.

Susan Sieker
Chief Financial Officer

Susan is the Chief Financial Officer for Cambridge Associates. She joined the firm in 2012 as Head of Enterprise Risk & Audit and has more than 20 years of finance and risk leadership experience.

Before joining Cambridge Associates, Susan was a Vice President at Brinker International, a NYSE Fortune 1000 global company in Dallas, Texas. During her 11 years with Brinker, Susan served in a variety of finance and risk leadership roles, including as Vice President/Treasurer, Vice President Global Infrastructure, Vice President of Benefits, Vice President of Business Assurance (Enterprise Risk Management), and, initially, as Director of Internal Audit. Susan began her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers where she specialized in Financial Services and completed a 2-year international secondment to Brazil. Susan brings a decade of experience with a Big 4 professional service firm and a combined 20+ years working with global Fortune 1000 companies. Before relocating to the Boston area, Susan served on the Board of Trustees for Alcuin School in Dallas, Texas. During her tenure, she served on the Audit, Strategy, and Executive Committees and also as Vice President of the Board.

Susan graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BBA in Accounting. She is also a Certified Public Accountant and holds the CRMA (Certified in Risk Management Assurance) designation.
