At the core of each private client’s investment program is a solid understanding of its particular circumstances and needs.

In serving a diverse group of wealth owners and family offices, we anticipate a broad range of circumstances and dynamics with every client. Concentrated holdings, completion portfolios, multiple generations, uneven spending, trust structures, pooling assets, and governance are examples of matters we handle routinely and successfully with private clients.

With private clients, we take a tax-sensitive approach to manager selection, identifying not only tax-efficient funds but also "best of breed" funds, where the potential returns outweigh the tax implications. In cases where a private client also maintains a non-taxable pool for philanthropic purposes, we draw upon our experience with more than 600 nonprofit institutions to potentially grow the foundation and expand their good works. We also find that handling the taxable and non-taxable assets collectively becomes advantageous when approaching access-constrained, alternative asset managers that wish to diversify their partnerships with either taxable or non-taxable investors. Few, if any, advisors offer the same level of knowledge and experience across both taxable and non-taxable pools as Cambridge Associates.
