Non-Marketable Alt. Assets (Venture Capital/Private Equity) Specialist Consultants

Non-Marketable Alt. Assets (Venture Capital/Private Equity) Specialist Consultants focus on three primary responsibilities: consulting with clients on their Venture Capital/Private Equity investments; researching non-marketable alternative asset classes, products and managers in coordination with the research staff; and serving as a resource to generalist consultants throughout the firm in establishing and monitoring clients' Venture Capital/Private Equity programs. Focus areas include venture capital, private equity, non-us private equity, real estate, and hard assets.

Principal Duties

Each specialist generally is responsible for 10-15 clients, in addition to being a resource to consultants with other clients, which requires them to handle several projects at once. Specialists oversee and participate in all aspects of client Venture Capital/Private Equity-related projects, which include performing analytical tasks, developing recommendations, supervising consulting associates, preparing presentation materials, and making presentations. Specialists work directly and closely with the owners and/or fiduciaries of the investment assets, which may be the Investment Committee of a Board of Trustees, an institution's Chief Investment Officer, or the principals in a family office. Specialists spend a significant amount of their time on manager research. This includes meeting with managers presenting in our offices; visiting managers in their offices (either with or without clients present); attending annual meetings; and attending managers' presentations to clients.
