Investment Consultants (Generalists)
Investment Consultants (Generalists) focus on specific tasks related to the management of nonprofit and private client assets. These Consultants assist our clients with investment objectives, asset allocation structures, investment manager structures and guidelines, investment manager selection and evaluation, and performance monitoring. The results of our Consultants' analyses are a set of specific options and recommendations designed to enhance the long-term investment performance of our clients' portfolios. Each generalist is responsible for 10 - 15 clients.
Principal Duties
- Conduct analyses, prepare materials and present recommendations on investment and financial issues
- Create and develop diversified portfolios to enable increased returns and lower volatility consistent with time horizon, risk tolerance, and income needs
- Work with and present to Investment Committees and CIO/CFO of client institutions,or family office principals
- Select and evaluate investment managers for virtually all asset classes, including alternative assets such as venture capital, private equity, hedge funds, real estate, timberland, and oil & gas
- Develop "tax aware" investment planning approach (for private clients)
- Develop and implement investment objectives, policies, and asset allocations for complex trust structures (for private clients)
Qualifications and Experience
- BA/BS required. An M.B.A. or C.F.A. strongly preferred.
- Appropriate knowledge and experience, gained perhaps from work at an investment firm or a large institutional investor, such as a pension fund or endowment. In the absence of relevant work experience, graduate course work provides evidence of interest in the capital markets.
- Demonstrated analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- An ability to work independently.
- Consulting experience preferred.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for domestic locations; European Union Citizenship required for positions in London
